A weekend-long poetry workshop with Em Strang and Susan Richardson, the curators of the Writing Stage at the 2012 Uncivilisation Festival.
The weekend will focus on what Dark Mountain calls ‘uncivilised’ writing: what does it mean to write nature poetry in the 21st century? How do we express wildness? Is it possible to speak for nonhuman species?
Come along for a weekend of talking, sharing poetry, lots of writing exercises both indoors and out in the woods, as well as delicious food and evening bonfires. There will be space timetabled into the weekend for focused periods of writing as well as feedback and editing sessions. All levels of experience welcome.
Cost for the weekend is £200, including 2 nights full board. Accommodation is in shared wooden cabins at the foot of Tinto Hill. All meals are vegetarian. Travel from Lockerbie mainline station to Wiston can be arranged (for a small fee to cover fuel). Only ten places available.
To book or for more information, contact Em Strang (emmastrang@hotmail.com) or Susan Richardson (susan@susanrichardsonwriter.co.uk).
