Evi and her collaborator Steven Hill made their first album in 2011. Recorded and produced at home, …and so the morning comes is ethereal, dark and beautiful. As Sic Magazine put it, ‘Listening to Evi is exactly like watching somebody dream.’
Their second album was written and produced during a period living near the lakes and woods in Berlin, recorded at home but mixed with Phil Brown (Talk Talk, Beth Gibbons) with additional production from Richard Formby (Mogwai, Ghostpoet, Wildbeasts) and Martyn Barker (Shreikback, Goldfrapp, Marianne Faithful).
Like many of the writers, artists and musicians who have become Mountaineers, Evi and Steven got in touch with Dark Mountain over the internet. Their song ‘Hands Are Tied’ has become the soundtrack to a new video about the project.
