Paul Kingsnorth

Paul Kingsnorth is the co-founder of the Dark Mountain Project, of which he was director from 2009 and 2017, and the co-author, with Dougald Hine, of Uncivilisation. He is also the author of nine books - three novels, two poetry collections and four works of non-fiction - all of which, it turns out, tell the same story: how we walked away from the wild world, and how we might get home again, if we can.
Amongst other things, Paul has also been a floor-sweeper in McDonalds, a door-to-door carpet cleaning salesman, a Fleet Street journalist, a peace observer in a Zapatista village, a road protester and one of the founders of the Free West Papua Campaign These days he runs the Wyrd School which teaches wild writing and art. He lives in the west of Ireland with his family, a dog, some chickens and a lot of trees. His website can be found at www.paulkingsnorth.net.
