In our second selection for this month's archive series, Sharon English introduces two poems by Em Strang from Dark Mountain: Issue 16 –REFUGE. With artwork by Kate Walters originally featured in Issue 13.

We begin our new year archive month on an Icelandic glacier with the novelist Andri Snær Magnason in an essay first published in our 2019 special issue on place and belonging, 'Dark Mountain: Issue 14 TERRA'.. Introduced by Nick Hunt.

Our final archive post is an allegorical tale by Kevin MacCabe, chosen by Dark Mountain writer and editor Eric Robertson, from the spring 2019 issue responding to the 'age of fire'.
