Launch of Dark Mountain: Issue 24 – Eight Fires

Do join us for an online celebration of our new autumn journal

You are invited to join us to celebrate our latest issue, Dark Mountain: Issue 24, an ensemble exploration of the eight fire festivals of the year, based on Dark Mountain’s workshop series ‘How We Walk Through the Fire’.

Eight Fires is a collection of creative practices, testimony, tools, ceremony, stories, art and poetry, that revolve around the eight seasonal fires. It charts the building of a collaborative cultural practice over the cycle of the year, with six elemental themes, an invitation at winter solstice, and a gathering at the zenith of midsummer.

It is a book made of wild winds, seaweed shelters, glass  mushrooms, talking fire sticks, singing stones. A book about re-forging an imaginative relationship with the Earth and sun at a time of reckoning.

A book about connecting deeply to places in a culture fraught with forgetting and isolation; a reminder of how we can speak together around a fire when the animals and ancestors are standing behind us.

Do join us for an online launch of Dark Mountain: Issue 24 on 19th October 2023 starting at 7:30pm (BST) to  catch a glimpse of the book with fellow practitioners, artists, writers, and editors from around the world.

Hope to see you there!
