The Dark Mountain Project began in 2009 as a home for the work of thinkers and storytellers, poets and artists who have stopped believing the stories our civilisation tells itself. Our contributors come from different continents and different worlds. We ask people to write from where they are, to ground themselves in place and time – and to keep their fears and doubts in view, rather than hiding behind impressively constructed arguments. Our last issue will be Issue 30, which will be published in autumn/winter 2026.
